Floaty Touch ("the App") is developed by VietByte. This policy explains how the App handles your data.
Data Collection
The App does not collect or store personal data for its core features. All on-device features (offline translation, OCR, screenshots, sticky notes) run locally. When you use online features (cloud translation, Ask Screen AI), data is processed as described below. Firebase Analytics may collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports to help us improve the app.
Screen Capture
Screen capture is used solely for screen translation (OCR + translation), screenshots, and Ask Screen (AI). Captured images are processed on-device and are never uploaded or stored externally, except when you use Ask Screen.
Ask Screen (AI)
The Ask Screen feature captures your screen and sends the image to an AI service to answer your question. All data is end-to-end encrypted using hybrid RSA/AES encryption before transmission. Images are not stored permanently on our servers.
Online Translation
When you choose an online translation engine, screen text is sent to the respective service for processing. No text is stored permanently. You are prompted for consent before using online translation for the first time.
Offline Translation
ML Kit translation runs entirely on your device. Language models are downloaded once and stored locally. No text leaves your device.
App usage access
Floaty Touch does not request the App Usage Access permission (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS). It cannot see which apps you open, how long you spend in them, or any usage history. The floating button stays on top using only the standard Display over other apps permission.
Advertising
The App uses Google AdMob to show optional rewarded ads. Free users can watch a short video ad to earn additional AI credits (+3 per ad). Pro subscribers do not see any ads.
Analytics & Crash Reporting
The App uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics. No personally identifiable information is included in these reports.
Subscription & Billing
Subscription purchases are processed entirely through Google Play Billing. VietByte does not have access to your payment information.
Permissions
Display over other apps: required for the floating button. Screen capture: required for translation, OCR, screenshots, Ask Screen. Internet: required for online features. Notifications: for the foreground service notification. Query installed apps: for app shortcuts launcher.

Google ML Kit, Google Translate API, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Google AdMob, Firebase, Google Play Billing.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
